Balance Your Pitta Skin- DIY Ayurvedic Face Masks
As spring melts away removing Kapha, summer arrives the world presenting Pitta. The excess fire, heat and humidity that pitta evokes can be a challenge to balance especially for your skin. An excess of Pitta leads to inflammation, acne, dryness, irritation, rashes, bug bites and sunburn. Here are 3 simple and wonderful DIY masks to balance your skin this summer.
Cooling Mask
You Will Need
2 tablespoon Chickpea Flower
1 tablespoon Water
2 tablespoon mashed Cucumber.
1/2 lemon
1/4 teaspoon mint leaves
Method
- Crush grated cucumber in bowl
- Add mint leaves and crush in with the cucumber
- Add the water, and 1/2 lemon to the mix
- Add the chickpea flower
- Create a paste by mixing together
- Apply to your skin and leave 10-15 minutes
- Wash off with cool water and apply moisturizer
Soothing Mask
You Will Need
2 tablespoons ripe banana (mashed)
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Method
- Mash your banana in a bowl until the consistency is mushy
- Add in baking soda and the turmeric
- Mix everything together
- Apply to skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes
- Rinse with cool water and apply moisturizer
Rejuvenating Hydration Mask
You Will Need
2 tablespoon avocado (mashed)
1 tablespoon ripe banana
1 teaspoon jojoba oil
1 teaspoon lemon
Method
- Add all the ingredients in a bowl
- Apply to face and leave on face for 10-15 minutes
- Wash with cold water and pat dry
